Ben Kiger, a naturalist, was born in Winston-Salem, N. C. and graduated from High Point University where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He also studied commercial art at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida and has had a number of years experience as an illustrator, commercial artist and teacher. He owned and operated an art gallery in downtown Greenville, S. C. for nine years.
Ben paints in oils and watercolors to capture his innate feeling for nature and draws inspiration from the natural aspects of the land. He never tires searching for those vanishing reminders of the past that are characteristic of the Old South. All the beauty and sensitivity you would expect from such an artist are contained in his oils and watercolor original paintings and prints, whether it is wildlife or a landscape scene. Ben has also participated in many exhibitions, has won several awards and currently has quite a number of his prints and paintings in several art galleries and private collections throughout the southeast.
Ben Kiger has been published in seven national magazines such as Art Trends, Art Business News, American Artist, etc. and he has been chosen to have his work on the set of a national movie.
