Self Portrait

When I originally entered college, my aptitude tests directed me to the arts, including graphic design. Unfortunately, I was discouraged from following this route as it was not considered to have a good future. However, I really enjoy utilizing the computer for my craft projects, so I started creating cards and moved on to creating and printing; my wedding 'Save the Date' cards, invitations, programs, and guest's 'Thank you' book-markers. Once digital scrap-booking hit the market, I immediately embraced the concept by creating several books.

In the fall of 2014, I began working with the Lighthouse and focused my attention on maintaining a SharePoint website, followed by designing a new website using WYSIWYG CMS. I also generated: 'small group' logos, posters, announcements, weekly bulletins, brochures, business cards, and other promotional material.

Generating social media graphics and utilizing the YouVersion Bible App - Events to promote Celebrate Recovery meeting location and topics provided me additional opportunities to create digital images. As the size of the church attendance began to grow, I created the first version of a Brand Guide.

As I did not receive any formal training, I utilized programs I was most familiar with, such as MS Office products and Google products to manipulate my images. I did also 'morph some images together using several programs including Canva and Snagit in order to achieve the final image I desired. I enjoy the challenge of trying to create beautifully crafted pieces of art.
