Self Portrait

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I can always be found with a pen in hand and paper in the other. I trained as a Fashion Designer at Central Saint Martins college of Art and Design 96 -00.

I worked as a fashion designer in the rag trade for around four years. . I worked my way to lead on several major accounts. It was a great roll, in which I gain a lot of experience and developed my design and production skills as well as team leadership skills. I finished working as an Assistant designer, to travel and find a new path. Unfortunately I had a medical issue that put pains to me being able to make the trip to the USA. So I had to re-assess what I wanted to do.

While I was working as a designer I started working on my Illustrations, on developing my style of illustration. I had the opportunity to share my artwork in my first solo exhibition. on the back of that success I held several further solo exhibitions in venues in London, and was part of a group exhibition in Denmark.

My work has appeared in Disorder Magazine Bored Magazine, in a books- Creative Minds (available online at this very website) and The Book Of Illustration by Martin Dawber, which will be available I stores and on Amazon in July 2007.

Illustrating provides me with the means to combine the two things I love most in the world, clothing design and a great artistic styled drawing. I am influenced by a myriad of things from manga, Klimt, classic pin-up artist, music and the list goes on.

All my illustrations online and on canvas are hand drawn using a combination of fine line ink pens, pencils, marker, felt-tips, watercolour and/or acrylic paint. I have started to combine this with digital applications like, illustrator and Photoshop, Paint shop and coral, infact any medium I can apply to create the desired effect... I'm always looking to develop and diversify in my style and mediums. Illustration also provides me with the means to combine the two things that make me the most happiest; my love of clothing design and my passion drawing.

I love illustrations and hope you enjoy my work as much as enjoy creating them.
