Kelly is a Sydney-based artist who's taken the long way round in her artistic quest (because everyone's life is some kind of quest or adventure, right?) While attaining a degree in Linguistics, certifications in Neuro Linguistic Programming and then becoming a Krav Maga instructor, she's been embracing and developing her first love, art.
This is where the magic has always been for Kel. She loves to experiment with different media and surfaces in her art, working along the spectrum of drawing and painting, into collage and photography. Cartooning has been a particular influence on her recent style, with an emphasis on simple and expressive characters.
Favourite illustrators include John Howe, Shaun Tan, Dee Huxley, Andrew Matthews, Quentin Blake, Nick Bland, Alan Lee, and Graeme Base.
