Spring has finally arrived in 'the high country' and God's animals are happily about their business. The birds, of all species, are hatching their babies. All the large animals are birthing their babies. Soon the wild flowers will open their beautiful faces to the sky conerning the meadows Jesus made with all the colors on His palate.
4/4/15 the trout spawn began in ernest 48 hours ago. this always coincides with the nesting of the raptors. therefore the immature eagles arrive first and the matures male and females have been nesting only about 8 days (total incubation tine is 40 days). as they become secure they will begin longer hunts. when the babies arrive ~ "all hell breaks loose" as their groth is amazing and their intake of calories huge. arising before dawn and being 'in position' becomes a mission as one doesn't want to miss the aerial shows. thee baby mammals are not far away! then the flowers in the 'high country' i am so blessed to have the life The Lord has given me!
For Valentine's Day I gave myself a new microscope :) It links into my Mac through Photo Booth so stand by for some neat photomicrographs.... YES! I am returning to the wild days of my youth!!!!
I have been blessed having 2 pieces of my work choosen from thousands of entries to decorate the visitors center at the Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge. 16 pieces were selected by 15 artists. Also, I was selected as one of the Featured Artists for the Butte, Montana, 2014, Art Walk. God is good!
Winter is not far away which means the return of many old and loved friends.... the Big Horn Sheep have begun to trikkle in....a beautiful Ram, charged with testerone for the rut, charged a passing Honda Civic killing himself and doing several thousand $$ damadge to the side of the car. as i caressed his coat and looked into his face, i realized he was a friend of many years whom i had photographed time and again ... i shall miss him here on earth!!!!!
' am embarking on a pack trip into The Bob Marshall Wilderness ~ horses and mules....the Elk will be bugeling, the bears, etc fattening up for hibernation as all God's creatures ready themselves for winter in Montana........
the babies are here and all the raptor parents are 'wild'. my favorite animals today is a cute rabbit which lives on the forest flood directly below the nests of the Great Horned Owl & the Bald Eagle .....they always look out, never directly below them so the bunny happily goes about its daily tasks with no idea that death lives above her......
