Self Portrait

About Ron Halfant The paintings that I create are meant to inspire and uplift, as well as enhance your interiors. I believe that our homes should be sanctuaries that surrounds us with comfort, color, beauty and the things we love. If you feel an emotional connection to a work, or you just LOVE the colors and the art makes you feel good, then I've accomplished what I set out to do. Hopefully you'll treat yourself to it! Or maybe you're considering this artwork for a special gift. What you're really investing in is what makes you or the recipient feel good. So, if you love it or you think they're going to love it -- follow your instinct and buy it! I like to use vivid, bright colors. Warm against cool tones. Rich colors against muted hues. Heavy texture utilizing a palette knife. Always look forward to those successful mistakes I work quickly and vigorously. I work dynamically, but as part of my working method, after a few days I bring out the picture again to emphasize/highlight certain details. These paintings our rich in texture and tropical colors. The paintings were created with acrylic paint with the use of a palette knife. A boy of seven I entered a state wide art contest placed 2nd. At that time I felt that it would be a possible direction to pursue as an adult. In my college years I had studied fine art and graphic design by attending Art Center College of Design, Cal State Fullerton and Fullerton City College. For the past few years my realization lies in abstract art. With liquid color the possibilities are endless. The direction of color and design can open up all sane and insane emotions with excitement or calmness to stir the emotions of the viewer. Painting is a wonderful journey not always knowing where it will lead. A romantic painting speaks to the heart and soul of the viewer.
