My alternative style and creative approach to Illustration is the result of the accumulation of my artistic experiences since partaking in drawing from a young age. Doodling, scribbling and sketching are activities which have always provided a necessary creative outlet for me and have naturally led to the creation of characters, themes and a personal artistic modus (style). Throughout my life my work has been influenced and informed by the romantic scenery and landscapes surrounding my home in Stroud but also harbours the assortment of human emotions both positive and sorrowful . The development of one character in particular has provided the impetus for the movement of my artwork into professional illustration. I began translating human emotions and behaviours into an original character ( Fangbin© The tatty little bin with the big heart, fangs and whiskers ) and this gave me the confidence to expand my artistic ambition. For me the illustrative process allows a unique expression of feeling and self into art and provides a real sense of achievement and fulfilment. It is this sensation, emotion and enjoyment I aim to share.
