Self Portrait

As a Photographer/Artist and a specialist in hand coloring both my own black and white photographs as well as historic images, I have created a collection that includes more than 1500 images covering the period from 1860 to the present day.

In the historic collection, each photograph has been carefully restored and then hand-tinted with a special transparent oil mixture, which is my specialty. The result brings to life the details and realism of faces and places from the past for us to enjoy.

I have been taking black and white photographs for over 30 years. I first started hand-tinting my own images while living in California in the 1980s and showed my work in several galleries in the Carmel area as well as a galleries in historic Cannery Row in downtown Monterey. My collection of hand-tinted historic images began about 15 years ago and now includes a series on Women, the Rural South, Sports, Virginia, Maryland, New York, Washington DC, Georgia, Pennsylvania, a Celebration of Black History, and much, much more. I now show my work at art shows in six states and am always adding new images to this always growing collection. My work can be viewed at www.art2die4.net or I can be reached by email at [email protected] for additional information.
