My father gave me the shutterbug at an early age. He carried a camera and took photos on all of our family excursions and I continued the tradition. I honed my photographic skills while working as a geologist in wilderness areas such as Alaska and while volunteering time as a photojournalist. I turned semi-pro about twelve years ago mainly supplying stock images to various publishers but my true love is nature photography. My goal is to capture the beauty, drama, and variety of our world when given the opportunity, to celebrate and enjoy what nature has given us, and to share this with the rest of the world. Photo credits include: Amphoto Books/Watson-Guptil Publications; California Department of Fish and Game; Cities of Fremont, Hayward, Newark, and Union City; East Bay Regional Parks; Environmental Volunteers; Friends of the Rivers; Harcourt School Publishers; Houghton-Mifflin; Living Buddhism; Smith-Southwestern; Storey Publishing; Macmillan/McGraw-Hill Publishers; Oxford University Press; United Nations Association; VIA magazine; What’s Happening magazine.
