EMMANUEL TURNER WAS BORN ON THE NEAR SOUTHSIDE OF CHICAGO IN 1942 AND WAS CONTINUALLY ENCOURAGED TO DRAW BY HIS MOTHER,THIS WAS A WAY OF KEEPING HIM AND HIS THREE BROTHERS BUSY AND OUT OF MISCHIEF.WHILE IN GRADE SCHOOL , IN EMMANULE'S SCIENCE CLASS HE BEGAN LEARNING ABOUT BIOLOGY AND DREW MANY ILLUSTRATIONS OF SCIENCE PROJECTS,THIS IS WHERE HE DISCOVERED HIS LOVE FOR DRAWING. DURING HIS FREE TIME,WHILE ENLISTED IN THE MILITARY, HE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO CONTINUE DRAWING FURTHER WORKING ON HIS SKILLS AND TECHNIQUES.HE DISCOVERED THAT DRAWING THE FEMALE FORM TO BE MOST CHALLENGING. AFTER THE MILITARY AND SEVERAL JOBS,EMMANUEL BEGAN A CAREER WORKING FOR THE RAILROAD. HE WORKED IN THE RAILROAD INDUSTRY FOR THIRTY TWO YEARS. UPON RETIREMENT,HE RELOCATED WITH HIS WIFE TO PARK FOREST IL. EMMANUEL STILL CONTINUE TO DRAW AND HIS WIFE KNOWING HIS LOVE FOR ART SUGGESTED AND ENCOURAGED HIM TO TAKE A LOCAL ART CLASS WHERE HE COULD CONTINUE TO LEARN AND ADVANCE HIS TALENT,INCLUDING STRETCHING OUT INTO PAINTING. EMMANUEL CHOSE WATERCOLOR ,AND HIS WIFE OFFERED TO PAY FOR HIS FIRST SESSION AND SAID HE COULD STOP IF HE DIDN'T HAVE A FEEL FOR THE CLASS.CHOOSING WATERCOLOR THINKING IT WOULD BE A CHEAPER ALTERNATIVE IF HE DIDN'T LIKE IT HE BEGAN HIS FIRST SESSION. HE LEARNED TWO THINGS AFTER THAT FIRST SESSION,IT WAS NOT AS INEXPENSIVE AS HE BELIEVED AND MOST IMPORTANTLY HE FELL IN LOVE WITH WATERCOLOR. EMMANUEL HAS REMAINED A STUDENT FOR THE PASS EIGHT YEARS UNDER THE TUTELAGE AND GUIDANCE OF CLAIRE WEIST OF THE TALL GRASS ART SCHOOL IN PARK FOREST. EMMANUEL TRULY DEVELOPED A LOVE AND PASSION FOR WATERCOLORS, HE USES EACH BRUSH STROKE TO THE FULLEST AND PAINTS WITH TRUE DEEP AND RICH COLORS. IT HAS BECOME HIS TRADEMARK. HE TRULY BELIEVES THAT YOU CANNOT BE AFRAID TO PAINT DEEP ,DARK AND RICH MAXIMIZING ALL THE COLORS. EMMANUEL IS A MEMBER OF THE ILLINOIS WATERCOLOR SOCIETY AND UNION STREET GALLERY IN CHICAGO HEIGHTS,ILLINOIS
