I am considered to be one of the best wildlife artists in the world, and compared to the late James Audobon in the 20th annd 21st centries. I have been painting in watercolor since 1973 and prior to that in oils where I painted hundreds of oil portraits including portatits of Pres. Ezenhower, Pres. Nixon, Pres. Johson, Pres. Kennedy, General Jimmy Doolittle, Dr. Edward Teller, Winston Churchill, many Hollywood personalities, Congressnmen. and many more VIP.s, but now prefer to sit back and paint only wildlife as they have no egos to bruise. I usually go directly into the subjects cages or in many museums, which I learn everything possible about the subject. I have had only one bad experience when a mountain lion I helped to raise At the Big Bear Zoo California when I entered the cage but did notice he was eating a bone. It took me a few moments to get out, but it was my fault not the cats. Two hours latter I went back into ther cage without any problems. I have been published by Pimpernel International of England, 4 series of six paintings each, distributed in 96 countries. Gallery Cllassics of California porcelain Plates and collector boxes advertised in Ducks unlimited 14 times and on t.v. several times, and SAGA of New Mexico for their 1976 Bicentenial prints of the American Eagle and American Bison. I was the Command Illustrator for the Space And Missile Systems Organization for 10 years. My wife, Kitty, and I have been married for over 53 yeas and are still on our honeymoon.
