I like to create in every possible aspect of the artworld. I am currently working with metal sculpture, digital imaging and pastels after almost 20 years. I sculpt and paint, photograph, weld, and have been known to model, cast, mold, pour, hammer, burnish, burn, metals. I have also woodworked, sculpted, carved, burned, built, modeled, stitched, routed, dremmeled, and inlayed. Some odds and ends that iv'e worked with...ivory, antler, silver, rock, leather, feathers, beads, wire, ceramics, raku, decopage, faux, printmaking, enameling, acrylics, airbrush and education. I've had the fortune of T.V. coverage, news paper articles, public sculptures, state and religous purchases, and an art filled past with scholarly awards starting in sixth grade.
_______ STATEMENT_______
Art has been here since the dawn of time. It expresses mankinds experience through images, emotion, and the senses. It fills some of the void of understanding, and measures time. As for art....it speaks it's own languages in volumes. We all choose it as if we were chosing music, food, clothing or company. I, for one, am very fortunate to be a part of these "turn of the millennium ground breaking demi-profits of creation." As you can see, the playing field is wide open. The computer assisted, holographic, multilayerd, nanosecond world of digital imagery is in it's primortial phaze. Jus' wait-n-see.....new works are already showing it's potential, and that is only one avenue....."catch it," and ride the wave of the future as it unfurls before you. Art, in and of itself, is a living, breathing, metamorphisizing entity. Shadowed by it's greatness, we must accept the simple fact, that it will ever be a part of everyone. An existance without it is empty of the visual, cultural, and historical riches we all appreciate on our own levels.
_______METHOD_______
I don't "sketch" an image on the piece i'm working on. No pencil marks or reference points. I just paint. I feel as if I am a conduit, a tool, or a medium at times. "The Spirit" moved me, cliche', perhaps, it's how I trully feel. Explain painting a highly worthy piece, "Ascension" (now posted) in 45 min. ???? I was quite taken aback by this......made me think.......a lot. Anyway, :) I don't take personal responsibility for the creative process...it's all powered by something more than we can equate.
