Artist Bio

I think artists are born artists. I've been drawing, painting and doing other creative things since I was a very young child. I still display one oil painting I did as a child fifty-five years ago, which I was told recently was "deep" and the best image out of the 500 images in my Fine Art America website. Obviously, art appreciation is a very personal thing. More and more I seem to be getting into digital art. I used to take photos of images that I wanted to paint. Then, I just took photos of images that I liked. Now, I take photos and use my many digital drawing tools to alter form and color by "painting" with my finger on a PC touch pad and turning the image into something I like. It is easier, faster, less messy to achieve the image I have in my head, plus I don't have to worry about storing the canvases or hauling them off to galleries. If someone sees an image in my websites that they want it can be giclee printed and shipped to them ready to hang within a week. I am always surprised at which images people like and what they buy. Often, the images I think are great most people don't think are great. The ones I think are mediocre are often the ones they think are great. Often I have been on the verge of destroying a creation that I don't like only to have someone stop me from doing it and tell me how much they like it. Thus, I have concluded I have no idea what "good “or "bad" art is or if such a thing exists. Fortunately I have been lucky and I can create without worrying about whether what I am creating is going to sell or not. However, it does please me when someone shares the appreciation of one of my creations by hanging it on their wall.
