Jeffery s jones bio:
( please don't forget to visit my website, there is more artwork at “www.jeffswoodnart.com”.)
When I was born I came out of my mothers womb with a piece of paper and a pencil, drawing. 2 days later, I asked for colored pencils because I was tired of black and white.
My name is jeff and i was born in 1972 in woodland park, Colorado . I have been drawing since i can remember. I wasn't very good when i began, but everything i came across i drew on. Homework was one of my first mediums. My teachers hated grading my papers and often got in trouble for it. Me and my family moved to fort Collins in 79 and grew up there. But as i grew up i took every art class, photography and drafting class that i could through out junior and high school. My dad always told me that i needed to find something else to do or i would not be able to make a living. I did different jobs for many years. I kept drawing often and never went to collage, i learned to draw on my own. I had met my wife Angela in 97 and went traveling with her for two years and then landed back here after that. We got married in 99 and moved to fort Collins were i grew up. I had a good job in the electronic field but after 2001 i had gotten laid off. the electronic field in fort Collins left for other countries and there was no work, so i became a stay home dad. I care for my two children Tristen and Reanna. then in 2004 my grand father past away and me and my dad split up my grandpas wood working tools . At that time i decided that i was going to start my own business doing wood working. I love doing scroll work and working with wood. So i incorporate my drawing skills to do my patterns for scrolling. I still love to draw, paint, scroll, and pyrography. I do portraits out of wood and hand draw them and make patterns of the person. Then i scroll them into wood. hence my business name "jeffswoodnart". i love to mix my mediums together to make the art more appealing. I'm not particular on what i draw i love drawing everything but i like to draw things in detail. I like making things look realistic. If it catches my eye, i will draw it. Now i just hope that i can do what i love to do and maybe make some money. The problem is that i always have given my drawings away, now i have to learn to draw for money which is hard. I really like drawing things and then giving it to someone that likes it and see there face brighten up when i give it to them. For me A smile is payment enough. But now that i am married i have a wife nagging me to make money off of my art. Thank god she has a good job or we would really be living the starving artists life. Angela always complain that i give stuff away, but oh well i cant help it. I'm just that type of person. I try to make stuff for charity as much as i can. I hope you will enjoy my art.
