Artist Bio

Jean Broden is an artist and art educator from Philadelphia. She has spent most of her life creating art and even as a small child knew that this was the path her life would take. Jean attended Moore College of Art where she studied to be an illustrator. After a number of years working in the business world, Jean returned to school to get her Master’s Degree in Art Education. She currently teaches Studio Art and Art History at Lansdale Catholic High School. While her children were young, Jean got her “art fix” creating Folk Art toys and decorations that she sold in area shops and at craft shows. Now that her children are grown, Jean has plunged back into the world of fine art, attending classes at Studio Incamminati and spending every spare moment at the easel. “My pursuit in creating art is in finding the beauty in simplicity. Nothing means more to me than family and family life. Through my paintings, I hope to recreate the warmth of my life in the people, places and things that are so special to me. I hope that others can connect these scenes of mine with their own lives.”
