-I don't expect the viewer to interpret or completely understand what the paintings mean. All that is expected from the viewer is the invoking of memories and emotions through color, shapes, and symbols. Sometimes, I thirst for immediacy in my work, and I will find myself using material's that help quench this need. The use of bright colors helps aid the expressive suggestion of metaphorical ideas, and feelings in most of my current work. My idiom is a mixture of imagination, combined with movement. Seeking out the visual movement in the composition, for me, is the important element when creating an image. The fluid movement of lines creating an image is usually the primary focus in the beginning. With this in hand, my goal in the end is a painting that can be interpreted in many ways.
