Artist Bio

Sarah Orschel is a 23 year old Art History major graduating in March 2009. She grew up in Berlin, Germany engaged in the arts from early on. Her grandfather who is an Egyptologist and directed the Egyptian museum of Berlin for over 30 years introduced her to many art forms overall. She has gathered inspiration from her two uncles, one being a professional stone sculptor and the other an opra singer. Sarah is mainly self taught in the areas of drawing and painting and has studied printmaking and photography while in College. Sarah is considering furthering her degree to include a photography minor as she has completed all but three requirements. This would however push her graduation date back by one or two terms and prevent her from accepting a significant promotion securing a stable future for the next couple of years. Even without completing a photography minor, Sarah has accepted commissions in Wedding, Portrait and Event photography through her place of work and friends. Sarah plans on taking her degree to graduate school where she hopes to earn a masters degree in Art Restoration and Conservation, specifically in paper mediums such as prints and photographs. Her work has been influenced by her travels to Germany, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Japan and the many states of the US, giving her an understanding of world wide issues and cultural phenomenon. Fell free to contact me if you wish to learn more or request work. I will always accept commissions and the opportunity to collaborate on ideas and represent issues.
