John Sharp, Sr. is a retired professor of Biology at John Tyler Community College in Chester VA and Midlothian VA. As he neared retirement, he was contemplating possibilities for activity he might pursue when retired. He choose sailing and photography. His colleague, Leo Rogon, Prof. of Physics did photography as an avocation and recommended it to John. He was a mentor as a teacher and a photographer. Since 1994, Sharp has photographed along the Eastern Intercoastal Waterway, Chesapeake Bay, Florida Everglades, and Florida Keys, Bahamas, Western U.S.A. (Arches Nat. Park & Canyon Land), Rocky Mountains, Boating and nature and wildlife in and around Deltaville Va located on the Chesapeake Bay, Alaska, Northern Mississippi River near Wabasha MN (Eagles abound there in Early Spring), Galapagos Islands in the Pacific, and the Andes Mountains in Ecuador. He presently resides in Midlothian Va 23114 with his wife Karol G. Sharp (his first mate on their thirty seven foot Sloop named "EAGLE." They have twelve great grandchildren; consequently he has many great photos of all of them and their parents. His favorite photographic subjects are Nature, Sailing, Wildlife, and Family Members.
