Sandra had strong callings to art from an early age. Distinguished at the young age of six as having extraordinary natural ability in art. She continued to pursue and develop her style solely though her own elements and surroundings. At the age of Twelve which in addition to fueling her artistic endeavors, awarded her with the ultimate earnings of money and candy. She was soon featured in the local paper for her first and second places wins. As creative and rewarding a childhood that was, it soon changed with the unforeseen death of her father, and five years later the tragic death of her mother when she was fourteen, Sandra temporarily experienced a break in her work in art, in which she on and off turned to art for 23 years, knowing fully that she would embrace art completely again. Her life experiences have led her to the particular art style as she has been given ample material to base her surrealist ideas on. What she personally appreciates about Surrealism is “you have to challenge your mind, many of my surreal paintings are different ways of seeing reality in life.” Her works explore symbolism and abstract ideas as an embodiment of all life events that have fused together to shape a person and their personality. Sandra is currently an established artist in the United States and continues art avidly in her career and work, but also makes a strong impression on many aspiring artists, by teaching them and serving as a positive influence in their pursuit of art.
