I began as a self-taught artist but then began regular lessons from my mentor New England watercolorist Maisi Sirois.
Drawing had been a past time of mine all my life. I was encouraged to take it to the next level by my late mother-in-law, Mary Brumbaugh, who had a wonderful career as a florist and watercolorist in the Pacific Northwest.
My family and I live in the Austin, Texas area. My subject matter revolves around various African and African-American figures amongst colorful abstract backgrounds. Current themes reflect issues in Darfur and Black lifestyles during the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the U.S.
I hope you enjoy viewing my artwork as much as I enjoy creating it.
