Rain and the lights on a highway, can be a beautiful sight. It's what you see as you start to drift off to sleep in a car...just before reality hits -- and you realize that YOU are the one driving. It was designed to capture that surreal, disorienting blur between motion and stillness, presence and dream. The diagonals and dotted streaks mimic the rhythm of streetlights flying past, but they also feel like stars or neural impulses, something that can easily lull you into that dream state. I think they are perfect for evoking that microsecond when consciousness slips… and then slams you back to reality. It's kind of dreamy, tense, and intimate all at once - a perfect. combination of a universal human experience in a single frame — but without spelling it out...at least, I hope so.
