Artist Bio

Born in 1979 Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. My first art piece was - a “broche” - at the age of six. It was a mothers’ day present for my mom made out of clay. Later I studied Fine Arts (8+) and Architecture (14+), and worked part time as an illustrator for comics (14). At the age of fifteen I moved to Los Angeles, California (1995) to continue my education in arts. In LA I was introduced to new techniques as well as POP-Art and Japanese Anime. I also studied at Otis (2001) as a graphic artist. Like most of the foreign immigrants in US, I started to work outside my field to earn a living. “Once you get into that machinery, it’s very hard to get out”...In 2005 my father and biggest friend passed away from cancer. That made me turn around and look at life in a different perspective, as something “so beautiful and so simple”. That’s when these characters were born. I started an apparel line by the name LANACA in 2007, and in 2009 there was an article written about me in Senken japanese fashion newspaper. In 2008 my art and I were a part of an ambitious fund raiser for two sister schools for poor children in Zimbabwe, Africa - organized by Children Uniting Nations (a nonprofit organization of Los Angeles). In 2009 I organized several art shows as part of the Art Walk in Downtown LA. My medium is oil on canvas and wood. Among some cebrities that own my art are Cortney Cox, David Arquette and Bruce Willis. My ultimate goal is to bring happiness to underprivileged kids everywhere... The canvas is only the beginning.
