My name is Venus. I'm a full time artist from Texas.

I didn't set out to become an artist. I started painting out of circumstance but it has been one of the most rewarding things in my life. I started painting in 2003 after being diagnosed with an inherited blood disease called IgA Defieciency that hinders my immune system. I was studying Art History in college and wanted to work at a museum, but my illness limited me to working at home most of the time. So I began to paint. Which I love and adore. I paint almost every day. And since 2003 I've painted about 600 paintings and have sold about half of them so far.

I am a self taught artist but I studied Art History and Anthropology at the University of Texas in pursuit of a Museum Studies degree.
