I was born in Chesterfield, a small market town close to the hills of the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District. The area is full of sheep, cows and small wildlife and I began drawing animals at an early age. My first Christmas at school, my teacher took me to the headmaster to show him a reindeer that I had painted. It may have been blue with three legs but it was clearly identifiable as a reindeer. From then on, I was called upon when the school required any help with an animal drawing and the walls of my school and relative's homes were always full of my sketches and paintings.

Having always lived with cats, they have naturally become my main subject. My four current felines model for me on a regular basis and appear as many fun costumed characters as well as in their natural form.

I regularly exhibit in wildlife art exhibitions including the annual Wild About Art charity event in Sheffield. I am an associate member of the Society of Feline Artists and a signature member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society. My wildlife paintings were highly commended in the 1997 and 1998 national Paint a Wildlife Subject competition and reached the finals each year from 2000 to 2004.

I accept pet portrait commissions and am currently illustrating my first children's book in collaboration with a Canadian author.
