About Me:
Michael B Schwartz (MFA 1991, University of Arizona School of Art, BFA 1988 Tyler School of Art at Temple University). I continue to be inspired by painters such as Ben Shahn, Marc Chagal and Miriam Shapiro. My work includes murals, paintings, drawings, writings and the facilitation of participatory Public Art projects that employ a unique and refreshing approach to creating art with people.
My work has been recognized through a series of awards including the Anne Moreton Scholarship (AZ) Puffin Foundation (NJ) and Art Matters (NY) Fellowships, and work can be found in Canada, Jamaica, Guatemala, India and the United States.
My current body of studio paintings, ink and multi media drawings revolve around themes of urban eco mythology, spirituality, social evolution, history and memory.
