Artist Bio: I grew up in Santa Cruz, California where technology meets nature, diversity and art are celebrated, and the undeniable power of an ocean connected to many continents borders this city. My grandfather Harvey Harris (a crime scene photographer) put an old Pentax in my hands at age 15 and I have never lost the love for photography. After traveling, earning a degree in City Planning and trying corporate life, I have come back full circle to Photography.
Working with several wedding photographers, world famous National Geographic photographer Frans Lanting, and commercial OC photographer Michael Jarrett has given me a well rounded view of the inner workings of being a professional photographer.
My work is personal. I love colors, textures, femininity, femme fatale. My subjects are often contradictions of each other. I seek the yin and the yang of life. Good and Evil, Nature and Technology, Beauty and Destruction, Joy and Pain. Yet my work still carries a distinct style that says Jesse Boyd because it all comes from my heart and what God (however you want to define) reveals to me.
My work has been seen around the world and is growing in popularity each year, which gives me great pleasure to share my world with others. Magazines I will be in are Vogue, Surface, San Francisco, Planet, and Travel + Leisure.
