I live and work in Houston, Texas. I have two children both sons, the oldest of which is married and has four children. My youngest son attends Stephen F. Austin University. I was born and raised in Indiana and attended college at Indiana University. I have lived and worked in Houston since 1972. My art work is mostly in the areas of watercolors and oils on stretched media, but I do occasional pieces that combine other medias such as pastels and gouache. I like to work in a abstract realism method and to never reveal what I believe the painting is of or says. I enjoy hearing other views as to what the work says to them. I do though draw my primary inspiration through landscapes and skyscapes. The majesty of mother nature can not be captured in a realistic manor even by a camera. It must be experienced I feel, through the power of interpretation of color and light to what the artist sees, if a buyer wants to have something that even attempts the capturing of that second in time. That brief moment that those colors exploded and existed before they were lost forever as the sun sank lower or the trees changed shades. The passion to capture that fleeting ethereal moment is what drives me and I believe drives all who pick up a brush or a pastel.
