Barend does not only want to make beautiful things, but she wants to take the viewer along, into a fascinating spectacle, which has been built by intense colours, contrasts and powerful movements... into another world, raw, honestly and clearly, with enough space for the fantasy of the viewer to dream along. She's inspired by her rich and complex inner world, her current emotions and impressing events. She's always looking at the world around her with artists eyes, getting surprised time after time. Painting has become essential for Esther, a way of living.
