During travels in an around Arizona, Marilyn is capturing the beauty of the area with her unique style and colorations in both watercolor and pastel. Recently her instructors have remarked that she is a true "colorist" by her use of color in a striking and stylistic manner.

The Gold Canyon Arts Council chose her watercolor painting "Cactus Flower" as the poster winner for the 2006 Canyon Arts Festival held in January 2006. This painting was printed on the cover of the Gold Canyon Ledger. Her pastel painting "Agave" was featured on the Ledger's April 2007 cover. She has exhibited at many venues in the Gold Canyon/ Apache Junction area as well as the Apache Junction City Hall.
