Biography
I offer workshops in traditional drawing as well as digital painting in northern California.
Art is my life and I have accomplished much of what I set out to do. Now having said that, I am embarking on two new serious themes, landscape painting en plein air and portrait painting, particularly with Jazz Musicians. I paint in different mediums and techniques, but now am looking to more impressionism and also expressionism using figurative subjects.

5 years wilderness living as experiment 1961-1967 Yukon Territory, Canada - Awarded $5,000 Mural in competition with the architect of the Whitehorse City Hall Historic Klondike Mural 1967 10' x 50' materials, Plywood Veneer. Murals in place in Santa Barbara, California, Lompoc, California (Harvest Festival award) and Tucson, Arizona, Lebanese Souk at Ali Baba Restaurant.

Numerous exhibits, teaching experience and sales, awards and works in private collections. Portrait and other art commissions 1972-present. Notable is the John Coltrane family portrait commissioned by Ravi Coltrane for Alice Coltrane's 60th birthday event. 1997 Oil on canvas 36" x 48". The painting is featured in the catalogue for the 75th Anniversary Dinner honoring John Coltrane and the John Coltrane Foundation.

Travel studies in England, Europe, St Petersburg and Moscow, Russia. I visited many churches and other wonderful art locations, including museums in Paris and Bordeau. I was further amazed in Ravenna, Venice, Florence, Milano, Siena, Assisi and Lucca in Italy where I traveled alone for a month in 1999. I studied digital art in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil with Celito Medeiros, a popular artist featured on this artwanted.com website.
Most recent studies with Paul Tebo at the Drawing Studio in Tucson, Arizona. Six workshops over a period of two years gave me a fine understanding of the practice of classical drawing and painting, leading into an understanding of the basis of contemporary art in a very beautiful way.
