He paints a diverse range of subject matter, including dabbling in portraits and wildlife but his main focus is on seascapes. He spend an enjoyable year traveling by boat around Vancouver Island, the west coast of British Columbia and up as far as the Queen Charlotte Islands. He loves the rugged coastline and the old growth forests along the British Columbia Coast and his feelings for this beautiful part of Canada is well represented in his works.

David and his wife Jacqueline, travel extensively around the world and it has been a rewarding experience for them to be exposed to different cultures and better appreciate the way other people live. He has been profoundly influenced by the natural beauty of other countries and has incorporated his feelings into his love of art. The floral beauty of the Caribbean Islands and countries like Turkey gave him a new direction to work and he immediately fell in love with painting floral scenes.

He was twice chosen by an international jury to represent Canada at an international art exposition in Europe. Approximately 600 artists are chosen for this prestigious event every two years.

He was featured in the Vancouver Province Newspaper; B.C. West Coast online magazine; World Sites Global Collage; Canadian Art and Culture; and featured in La Monde des Artistes, one of France's premier portals featuring artists from around the world. He has been invited to show his works at several galleries in New York
