Gordon Powles is a Artist having studied studied at Lowestoft School of Art and then Camberwell College of Arts.
Gordon now works as a Full time Artist using traditional techniques and incorporating the tools and spectrum of the new digital technologies. I have had several exhibitions and my work is in private collections all over the world.
Artists Statement
My love for art and started as a child. I remember sitting in front of the TV beings amazed by the Cartoons, Adverts and the Movies. I knew then I wanted to be a Creative. I remember being fascinated by the way images and sound and the story could evoke emotions.
The way the elements are put together can change the message completely. Drawing was my favourite thing, drawing all the time and feeling that I was happy when I was creating something.
I look upon my work as a collaboration of various media, combining digital photography with traditional drawing and art techniques. Then taking the process further by creating imagery that is vibrant and exciting. Having lived next to the sea most of my life I find that it has influenced my work. I like to visit new places with my sketchbook and camera and document it in an interesting way.
