Done on 5"x7" claybord, this Celtic Cross was a welcomed diversion from life (and from a HUGE papercut project I'm working on). I decided to spot-color the ivy/vine--don't know exactly why--just seemed like the thing to do. Again, my coloring of this piece (like "Hugs and Fishes") was done via computer. I finished "Reclamation" the night of 9/8/05--had to be done for Irish Weekend :-)!

Iagree with ryan mowry in respect to the clouds. there's such beautiful depth of field and it gets lst with the distraction of the clouds. sometimes simpler is better.( of course this is coming from someone who gets lost in detail. maybe I'm learning fromyour work)ryan mowry 14 Sep 2005
shannon i like the detail in the stone, and the over all feel of the work.personly i would have maybe left out the clouds in the background.you could have maybe also brought some of the blades of grass to the very front of the image, pushing that depth to the piece, as well as give some varying size to the grass blades.Rob Slijkhuis 09 Sep 2005
Great scraperboard illustration!
