Candice Solomon-Miller was born and raised in Denver,Colorado to parents well known in the community. Her mother taught school for the Denver Public Schools, and her father worked for the Goverment, and was a partime artist, commissioned by Denver area churches to do paintings. though taught by her father to paint and draw, she played concert piano at age 16 then later attended University of Southern Colorado, as a music major. While attending college, she became a rock performer, filling in for different rock acts that came to town. This helped pay for college. Ten years ago Candice became a serious artist, appearing in juried shows, Art in the Park/La Veta, Colorado, Guest Gallery/Lilburn,Georgia and Providence Gallery/Denver,Colorado. She also creates handmade beaded jewelry displayed along with her paintings on www.yessy.com/cuchara. She apprenticed with jewelry designer Chipita Eagle of Chipita Accessories-Fundamentals in New York City.
