Self Portrait

I didn't start learning how to draw and paint till I was in my early 30's. Art at school had been a bad experience for me. I was told, in no uncertain terms, I had no talent for art and that put me off trying for many years. At last, determined to prove I could 'do it', I attended a local evening class and was very lucky to find a very good and patient teacher. Once I realised I could paint and draw, there was no stopping me. I joined a couple of local art groups and gradually developed my style and interests, principally in landscape painting in watercolour, pastels and acrylics though I also enjoy painting flowers and using oils. I am constantly revising and looking at fresh approaches to the way I work.

At the moment I paint in my spare time, but I hope one day to be able to work at my art full time. Please feel free to email me about any aspect of my work. I really appreciate all the comments on my work. Thank you.

I am available for commissions.
