Self Portrait

Birsen Ozbilge was born in Ankara, Turkey, in 1970. Soon after her family moved to Istanbul. In 1987, she joined Mimar Sinan, The Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul, and graduated in Mastering Paintings with Mosaic and Fresco. After graduation she exhibited in several collective shows. In 1996, she had her first solo exhibition, called Pulp Art, in Sefahatane, Istanbul. Shortly after she moved to New York, where she lived for seven years, and worked for Novo Art Design Company as a painter. In 2001, she got hired by the prestigious The Frick Museum at Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, New York, where she participated in two group exhibitions. Since 2003, she has been living in the Canary Islands, Spain and is currently working on a new project called Cactus SueƱos (Cactus Dreams). Her art pieces are on private collections mostly in Turkey, United States, Spain and France.
