Self Portrait

5/17/15: Due to health and computer issues I am just now playing catch-up with my art-related websites. Please pardon me if I missed comments while I'm trying to get up to date. In the mean time please visit my Etsy shop listed below.

Though most of my pictures are images of fantasy, I'm inspired by many artists in several different areas of art.  Possibly my favorite part of creating a picture is the process of gathering inspiration and reference materials from a variety of sources, as well as the challenge of translating an idea into an actual image.  I view each artwork as a great opportunity to learn something new.

I've created illustrations or licensed images for a variety of uses and products.  My work is featured in the second and third volumes of The New Masters of Fantasy, and my fantasy, pagan, and celestial-themed art can be found at several related sites.  I enjoy drawing and painting colorful, detailed images, though I do occasionally like to draw black and white pictures, most often by combining ink and pencil.  I also like to work with watercolor, colored inks, oils, acrylics, pastels, colored pencil, and photoshop.  For information on commissions, free-lance work, or licensing images, please email me.

For several years I've been creating imaginative images that draw inspiration from fantasy, folklore, celestial, and children's book illustration.  I also find a great deal of inspiration from nature, and the various natural landscapes in my area.  All these sources often result in several ideas which fill my sketchbooks and are eventually made into a completed artwork.

My work can also be found at the epilogue.net and elfwood.com fantasy art galleries:
