I'm just a hobbyist. I take photos and I sometimes try my hand at computer generated art. I'm _not_ a real artist. My respect goes out to all those traditionalists and those who blend traditional realistic techniques and new media like Corel Painter or Photoshop + Wacom/Tablet painters. My favorite artist is Gustav Dore. I love monochromatic works in pencil, charcoal, engravings and litho. I also love realism and don't care much for "modern" art. I consider modern art a refuge for posers and wannabes. I do not call myself an artist because I cannot do a realistic self-portrait. To those who can - bravo!
