Artist Bio

Born 1944, Buffalo, New York. Graduated in 1968 with a BA degree in Philosophy from the University of Buffalo and in 1984 from the University of Oregon with an MA degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Studied painting and the history of art from childhood. Visited Europe in the 1970s: England, Spain, Germany, and Holland and again in the 1990s spending a long time in Italy studying Renaissance and Baroque art. In 1993 became a member of the New Zone Art Collective, an experimental artist guild in Eugene and in 1999 was elected its president. Numerous awards: The 2000 Mayors Choice award for the Mayors Art Show of Eugene and the jurors award at the 31st annual Willamette Valley Juried show in Corvallis, Oregon. In Italy, a first show in 1999 in Milan at the American Consulate and again in 2000 with a one-man show in Loiano (Bologna). Recent shows in Rome, Italy at the prestigious Galleria DArte La Borgognona, Via del Corso, Rome (June-July, 2002) also at Portland: Chetwynd-Stapleton Gallery in Portland, Oregon and Marghitta Feldman Gallery in Pearl District, Portland. Jurors' award for 2003 Mayor's Art Show in Eugene. A participant in founding of DIVA (Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts) in Eugene.
