NORDESIA magazine cover. This cultural magazine is published weekly by "Diario de Ferrol"----------- About the illustration. I'll try to explain it although the subject is complex and my English is "amateurish" :-(------------- Galicia, the Spanish area where I live in is "above" Portugal on the map: northwestern Spain. Galician language and Portuguese are similar in a way and share a lot of words. Here, in Galicia, there're NATIONALIST-SEPARATIST people. They only speak Galician language but there're two kind of nationalists: the "pure" Galician people and the ones that wish a political integration with Portugal. The illustration is about groups that "only" want to UNIFY the language but there's a new problem about this subject: the "pure" Galician uses "Ñ". This letter theoretically only exists in Spanish language but is also used in "pure" Galician. These groups want a total integration (language) Galician-Portuguese. The Portuguese doesn't have the "Ñ" and its accent is replaced by "NH" sound.----------- I put the map of Galicia and Portugal. Inside a poem by Galician poetess Rosalia de Castro. I also put the typical Portuguese rooster, a "horreo" (that ancient building is a Galician granary) and finally, ROY BOOBYER's Peixeiras. First I put my version but it didn't "match" but yours looked and looks splendid, Roy :-) --------------- It was a difficult and complex subject to illustrate, for sure, and it only can be understandable if you read the text.----------------- P.S.- Credits (right side). I wrote IMAGEN DIGITAL: SALAS Y ROY BOOBYER (Spanish. Translation: DIGITAL IMAGE: SALAS AND ROY BOOBYER). The director of NORDESIA decided to translate it into Galician language: IMAXE DIXITAL: SALAS E ROY BOOBYER :-)
