DW Johnson, a multi-dimensional artist working in photography, painting, and writing, has been creating for over four decades.
Born and raised in Kansas, USA where he lives with his daughter, a large epileptic dog, three cats, and a barnyard of chickens and ducks.
My newest paintings are an abstract mixture of acrylic and metal foil. Dense in texture, they are often based on Sumi style paintings. My novels are fantasy fiction. Following in the footsteps of J. R. R. Tolkien and Robert Jordan. I created the acclaimed Iron League Saga and the Darkwater Trilogy. The direction my work has taken was not intentional - it all developed and evolved. People always ask for my artist’s statement, so I needed to do one, but I’ve never liked to explain my work. If I’ve made an image, and that’s how I want it to be, hopefully, it can speak for itself. Each witness takes something different from the same piece.
