Oda a mi pueblo
Ode to my town
When I am doing this page I think about my country, in the human beings of that great Latin American nation, about the farmer and the teacher of the school, about the fisherman, and the salesman of the street, in the poor children of my country. Whatever would give to be there and to laugh with them, to be able to sing with raised voice the songs of South America, free like the cóndor of the lines of Nasca, watching the stars in the opened sky of my America, like the pyramids of Sipán and Teotihuacán and Machu Picchu watch from remote times to the infinite. My thought is in my country. My homesickness attracts me, like a strong magnet to my roots, and my hand slides on the canvas painting stones, lines and signs, doing a pictorial song, one oda from colors to my land In my fantasy way, I travel slowly the Inca ways, and I look for, in each stone tracks of our past. I enter deep in the thickness of the forest and watch the ruins of the lost civilizations, rest of ceramics, prehistoric paintings, statues left in the thickness of the mount that someday were witnesses of the songs, of the virgins of the sun, the song of those men who laughed, they danced, they said and they feared. Witnesses of the work of the infinite, the work of the evolutionary play, the game of chess of the Gods of the eternity. Everything is calm, the Fontana of the seat this shut up, deep silence is transformed into song and the moss of fluorescent dyed stones, there where the tracks the past are accumulated, sings my soul there a song without singing, an ancestral rate that is translated on the canvas in what you see and that we called my work. But we are sure that it is my work? Or it is the work of the power of homesickness on my hand?
