Amie McCarron is a full-time New Zealand contemporary artist producing works that primarily incorporate elements of New Zealand nature or the beauty of the female form.
"The reason I paint is simply because I love the act of painting itself. It is important to me that my art has a positive quality and brings pleasure to the viewer."
After discovering a love of painting in early 2004 Amie decided to leave a successful corporate career in Web Development to pursue her dream of becoming a full-time artist. Amie has always had a strong interest in art and design having taken art studies during secondary school in Cambridge where she grew up. Primarily self-taught, Amie has attended numerous painting workshops with New Zealand artists allowing her to discover and express her own unique style.
Amie paints intuitively preferring deep rich colours to create pieces that exude warmth and create a sense of calm, serenity and romance. Her style shows versatility and has an exploratory feel as she produces contemporary and figurative art works. Amies preferred medium is acrylics on stretched canvas frames that she makes herself using high quality materials.
Amie's work is held in private collections across New Zealand and the UK. After a number of group exhibitions and a successful first solo exhibition, her paintings can be found in numerous art shows and galleries across New Zealand.
