Original Post: Art Appraisal

Has anyone had an appraisal of their art pieces? This is not as easy as you may think, as most appraisers will refuse to do so without public publication of what your art sold for. Since most galleries or individuals do not publish the sale or price sold, you need to find an appraiser who would do a "fair market value" of your art. If you find, remember that more than likely they will find a comparable artist that has had public sales, selling at a public auction house. It will not be cheap for sure, but it has benefits overall when pricing your artwork. I have had 10 appraisal paintings completed with fair results, without having to lose money, starting in an auction house at a very low auction bid base price for my paintings.

I am now able to price my other 240 paintings without a problem, with great results, knowing what "Fair Market Value" really means. The trick is converting that official and recognized appraisal, on all my media, to find a high and low price, as all art is negotiable depending on time, place, and economy. Should you consider doing an appraisal, send me a message and I will help so you can cut some corners and save some dollars. btw...my advice is free. My appraisal was 28 pages for 10 paintings to justify their value of my art.
