Original Post: How to remove Dammar varnish from oil painting ?

I have varnished an oil painting with two coats of Dammar varnish( Talens ) and it was dameged . What is the best way to fix it ? Is it possible to remove the varnish and apply a new coat of it ? Thanks in advance.
