Media: Graphite & Pastel Dimensions: 11" x 14" Date of Work: 2004 Based on the Aesop's Fable "The Hawk and the Nightingale". "A NIGHTINGALE, sitting aloft upon an oak and singing according to his wont, was seen by a Hawk who, being in need of food, swooped down and seized him." I tried to give the feeling of the nightingale singing his beautiful song, using creative license, I accomplished this by use of colorful and flamboyant plumage. I wanted the viewer to have the feeling of careless joy at just being alive and not knowing what comes at you when you are not looking.
