Artist comment: "I love tall lighthouses. Because this stretch of the Pacific coast is relatively low-lying, there was a need for a tall tower to shine the light far out to sea. This oil on canvas was a pleasure to paint. I carefully sketched the composition, then rendered the sky and background sea. When that was dry, I painted the lighthouse and out buildings, finishing with the dark green tree for accent"
