Artist Comments: "Kite flying is a fascinating chapter in my life. I have been a member of a kite club in Washington State. This afforded me opportunities for travel to kite conventions around the country and to Hawaii where I recorded this scene of the Australian made kite hovering menacingly over Honolulu. Later in my studio, I painted the scene in oil on stretched linen canvas. The composition was a natural, so I painted the scene just as I had photographed it."
