Louis Pasteur (2008)

Louis Pasteur was the famous French microbiologist who established the germ theory. His pioneering work in vaccination lead the way for future developments. I have often used his saying that "la maladie n'est rien, l'hote est tout (the disease is nothing, the host is all)" on many occasions when dealing with patients and other physicians.

This is brilliant David! A strong, charismatic portrait skilfully painted with your customary confident brush strokes. I do like the shadow under the moustache and the overall atmosphere of benevolence and compassion. Love it!
