Artist comment: "The sea is not always blue and sunny. I have seen many moods at different seasons and different times of the day. In this oil on canvas, I wanted to portray a glowering storm that is stirring the water and creating extremely active wave action. The long narrow format allowed me to show all the stages of a wave from swells to roller to translucency and splash. I placed strategic rocks in the foreground to direct the eye to the elements of the focal point and keep the eye from leaving the scene."
